Solopart Menu VS SEO Menu |

Solopart - Yahoo - No Keywords Highlighted Links are not seen |

Solopart - Google - No Keywords Highlighted Links are not seen |
|
Want a purely driven CSS menu? This menu does not use JavaScript or any other means of programming to make this menu work.
Thanks to Stu Nicholls of CSS PLaY this menu is entirely possible. He has dedicated his whole site to CSS. Because of his efforts I have converted his code to make this menu.
DNN SEO is now up and running with forums for the SEOMenu!
Solopart Menu
- Search can't read or follow submenu links the solopart menu!
What we found is that the Solopart menu does not cache in MSN properly you can not get to the sub-menus in the cache of MSN. Also the House Menu does not Cache in MSN, Yahoo, or Google. This is not what the search engines want especially Yahoo, because they will bring your rankings down in a heartbeat.
SEO Menu
- Search Engines CAN read and follow submenu links in the SEO Menu!
The feature of changing your Page names with out loosing your page rank is an excellent feature. What it does is goes to the applocalresource files for both the module and skin object to find the TabID.Text field and changes the name to what ever you would like to name the page. For the module it can use the ModuleID for module specific page name changes. If the menu does not find a field with the TabID.Text it just produces the original page name.
You can turn on and off the title attribute for the links. You can use either the Page Name, Title Tag, The Description tag, or Key Words tag for the title of the links.
The feature to be able to just show the admin tabs is a great feature if you have a menu that you don't want to show the subpages. If you have the show admin it will not show the subpages for it if the showsubpages is turned off. All you need to do is add another menu that just shows the admin tabs with their sub pages.
The feature to show a separator between and before links in horizontal and vertical mode is a nice feature if you just want a simple menu of links without any subpages being shown.
Tired of moving the new page you just added to be your home page to the begging of the list in the pages menu of the admin area. This menu will go to your portal settings and look to see if you have a home page selected, and if you do it will automatically move the page to the front of the menu.
The feature that coincides with using the applocalresource files for the changing your page names has been modified to include changing the Page names using the Page, Title, Description, and Keywords. If the any of the fields are blank it will automatically default to the Page name.
The ADMIN Tabs only skin object can be used in co-junct with the SEOMenu SkinObject. This ADMIN only skin object is bare boned to only allow a few of the features listed. This skin object will work right out of the box. It comes with a predefined CSS that will only add the CSS to the HTML when in admin mode. This is a Horizontal CSS style sheet. This skinobject can be put vertically.
The feature of going to the Applocalresource file to add extra parameters for the links like a onclick=““ can be done by adding for the module with the use moduleid checked by typing 37540Parameters.Text and for without the moduleid check and the skinobject 40Parameters.Text. Key = ModuleID TabID
The feature of changing the home tab URL from http://yourportalalias/home/tabid/36/default.aspx to http://yourportalalias/ is an awesome feature if you want just the short URL instead of the long one for the home tab.
(NEW!) IPortable is now implemented. If you already bought the earlier version of this menu no need to uninstall the old version. This is a separate module and this Includes both the non-IPortable and Iportable modules.
(NEW!) Optionally disabling the current pages link is a great feature so that you can make sure the even if the user click on the current link it will not refresh the page.
